How Does Wireless Internet Work

PC's can have programs that use the internet in the background. Examples are; antivirus updates, windows updates, toolbars in Internet Explorer and weather links, to mention a few. The big culprits are adware, spyware, malware, worms and viruses that send information, mail and viruses out throught the internet. Be careful of any 'free' programs that you can download, they all come with an agenda !
P2p programs can also cause a lot of traffic.
Make sure you have a good antivirus program that is regularly updated. Set your Windows to notify you before downloading files.
