Breedenet is required under section 39 of the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-related Information Act of 2002 to obtain certain information from applicants for services prior to activating such services. This is the same process which many of you will have gone through in registering your SIM card with your mobile network service provider.

Please ensure that you have the following available when applying so as to streamline the process:

Individuals:

  • name, identity number residential and postal or business address and proof thereof;
  • Certified copy of identity document where name, photograph and identity number appear;

Juristic person (Companies, CCs, Trusts etc)

  • name, identity number residential and postal or business address of representative;
  • name of juristic person, business address and registration number (if registered)
  • Certified copy of identity document of representative, where name, photograph and identity number appear;
  • Certified photocopy of the business letterhead.

NB! It is a criminal offence to submit invalid identification documentation or an identity document not belonging to the person in whose name the application is being made and Breedenet is required by law to report any attempt to do this to the South African Police Services.
